Exceptional Bordeaux blanc, herbaceous hints of buchu and mint and other floral aromas. On the palate herbs, mineralty Medium plus acidity.
Nose similar to matured Champagne, brioche, toast, saline nose. High acidity, mid salinity, mid- intensive body, long persistence. 4,0. All wines except 2005 were opened 45 hours before tasting!
My first white Cos d’Estournel. Fresh, pungent nose of lemon, peaches and freshly mowed grass. 80% Sauv Blanc and 20% Semillon and a smidgen of new oak. Excellent but not sure worth the CAD$400 price tag here in Vancouver.
Confounding nose of petroleum but bottle shape is clearly not Riesling ... also the fruit aromas tasted riper than Riesling could have been ... hmm ...surprisingly it’s a Cos Estournel blanc, indeed a welcoming experience to try this wine!
Dry, lemon, creamy, typical Bordeaux style
